What to Expect from your Detox

A New Leaf detox programme is very structured but there is still giving you enough time to explore the island of Koh Samui. Although we are not a boot camp, we do offer a daily schedule that will quickly help you lose weight and get healthy. You do not have to take part in any of the activities, but we do recommend trying them out at least once. You never know, you might just stumble upon a newfound passion or hobby. All group activities at New Leaf are guided by an instructor or trainer.

6:30 AM – It might sound early, but getting up just after the sun rises is exactly what we do every day to prepare for the morning walk. There is a different walk each day that just about anyone can do.

6:45 AM – Meeting in the lobby, you and the other guests will have some morning supplements and head out on the walk. This changes on a daily basis; sometimes it’s a refreshing 5 km walk on the beach while other days it’s a challenging 12 km jungle loop or a hike up a hill. Don’t worry, you’ll know ahead of time which morning walk it will be, and if it’s not for you, you can always go on your own. Our fitness instructor will be with you to ensure you’re not only safe but also provide you with encouragement and motivation.

8:30 AM – Breakfast is served every day at 8:30 AM. Our juices are freshly prepared and organic, ensuring you get the best quality possible. The juice changes every day; not only will you not get tired of the same taste, but you’ll also get all the vitamins and minerals your body needs to carry out the detox program. Thailand is home to some of the most delicious tropical fruits and rests assured, you’ll get to try a most of them while with us!

8:30 – 9:30 AM – During this one hour period, you can have your measurements and blood pressure taken and/or monitor your weight loss progress with our program director. This is also a time in which you can schedule your own health and wellness private consultation. Some guests opt not to weigh themselves daily which is what we suggest. Weight loss is never a progressive loss so fluctuation can happen. We suggest you weigh in once a week or at the end of your stay.

Between breakfast and water aerobics, you will have time to zap away parasites with the parasite zapper, read a book, study or check your emails. It’s also a great opportunity to chat with other guests and even make long-lasting friendships.

9:45 – 10:30 – Once you’ve rested from your morning walk and breakfast, it’s time to get ready for water aerobics. For the next 45 minutes, our fitness instructor will work every muscle of your body. You’ll not only lose weight but also start to build strength that you may have thought you never had. Because you’re in the refreshing water, you’ll be able to stay cool even in the most intense heat.

11:30 – Lunch is served. You’ll enjoy a fulfilling smoothie packed with all the energy you need to keep you on your feet and going strong. You’ll also be given a few different supplements to get your body into tip-top shape.

12 PM – Every day at noon you will be encouraged to join in the midday activity. Taste the broth of Green Curry in the Thai Cooking Class or build stamina in the Thai Boxing session. Educate yourself on parasites in Parasites 101 or learn how to break the detox properly in our Nutritional Talk. Finally, calm the mind in Meditation or Yoga sessions. There’s more to Koh Samui than just our detox resort, and you’ll have the chance to explore the most beautiful, awe-inspiring sights on the Island Tour. All activities are included in your detox program, and although optional, will really help you to make the most of your experience.

12-4 PM – During the afternoon, all guests will partake in a self-administered colema. Now, we won’t go too much into this here, but this is one of the best ways to cleanse the colon, eliminate parasites (if you have any) and repopulate your gut with good bacteria. The staff at New Leaf Detox Resort will carefully guide you through the colema process so you know exactly how to do it.

Apart from the colema, you’ll get to be pampered in a daily Thai or oil massage. This will help you to realign the body, clear out stubborn toxins and promote healthy, glowing skin.

When you’re not enjoying the massage or cleansing the colon, you are free to do as you wish. Whether you want to read a book on your veranda, mingle with other guests or go out for a stroll in Lamai, you will have the afternoon to take care of your personal needs.

Don’t forget to stop by the lobby for a healthy green juice break before you go to your next activity. This happens every day at 2 PM!

4.00 PM – Each day at four, you can centre your mind while building strength and flexibility in the daily yoga sessions. Whether you’ve never done yoga before or think you’re just “not flexible enough” these classes will show you that anyone can do, and enjoy, yoga.

If you’re not into yoga, you can always take a swim in the pool or wait for the steam room to open at 5:30. This is a great way to cleanse toxins from your bodies’ pores and prepare for a good night’s rest.

6:30 PM – Chat about the day’s’ events with other guests during the dinner soup. There’s no broth here (unless requested). We’ll provide you with a healthy, hearty soup to give your body plenty of fuel for the next day.

By the time dinner is over, many guests retire to their rooms with a herbal tea and a movie. It’s a perfect way to end the busy day and prepare for another active day of your all-inclusive detox program in Thailand.
